Our Story
The inception of the Veterinary Specialty Center of Stillwater originated from the shared vision of Dr. Dugat and Carey, driven by the aspiration to deliver cutting-edge veterinary care while fostering the warmth of a small-town veterinary hospital where everyone is familiar.
Their paths crossed in 2006 when Dr. Dugat, then a student at Oklahoma State University, met Carey, who was working as a veterinary nurse. Despite being in different departments, their connection deepened as Dr. Dugat completed her internship and residency. It wasn't until 2020, when Carey transitioned to a new administrative role at OSU, that they had the opportunity to collaborate closely.
This collaboration marked a new phase in their friendship, as Dr. Dugat and Carey discovered a shared passion for clients, patients, and primary veterinarians. Recognizing the potential to offer a unique blend of a small clinic atmosphere with high-level hospital care, they were inspired by the prospect of providing exceptional service with a personal touch, a quality often lost as veterinary practices expand.
As we eagerly anticipate the opening of our doors in 2024, we are excited about the journey ahead. We look forward to the unfolding chapters in our story and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the field of veterinary care.
